Ternary polymer blends based on polypropylene (PP)/Polyamide6 (PA6)/Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer (EPDM) (70/15/15) were prepared by melt blending using twin-screw extruder. EPDM-g- MA was also added to the system as the compatibilzing agent. Effect of processing parameters on the formation of ternary polymer blends were investigated using design of experiments (DOE) and accordingly optimal processing conditions including barrel temperature, screw speed and blending sequence were chosen as: 220ºC, 150 and preparing master batch of (EPDM+EPDM-g-MA+PA6) before blending this master batch with PP, respectively. Compatibilized PP/EPDM/PA6/Cloisite 15A nanocomposite samples were prepared according to the results analyzed by the DOE software and effect of presence of nano-silicate layers on the microstructure and particle size distribution of PA6 and EPDM minor phases was investigated
