In order to verify the structural relationship between Perceptual learning Style, the Ideal L2 Self and Motivated L2 Behavior, this study investigated 122 university ESP freshmen and sophemores’ visual, auditory, kinesthetic styles, imagination, ideal L2 self, motivated behavior, and English proficiency. The Participants joined the study from Islamic Azad University, Mashhad branch. The data collected by means of a questionnaire were explored using a correlation analysis and structural equation modeling. Their visual, auditory, and kinesthetic styles were compared with their ability to imagine their future, ideal L2 self, and motivated behavior. The students were mainly visually oriented and this orientation was significantly correlated with their ideal L2 self and motivated behavior, as was the students’ auditory orientation. Both visual and auditory styles positively affect students’ English learning motivation by creating and maintaining their ideal L2 self.
