خلاصه مقاله:
Introduction: The present study aimed at investigating the effect of civilization computer game on problem-solvingskills in adolescent girls with low social skills. Methods: The current study was quasi-experimental with pretest-posttest design with a control group. Using availablesampling, 30 adolescent girls with low social skills referred to support centers with an average age of 15.86 (12 to 18years) were selected and randomly divided into two equal groups pf experimental and control one. The duration of thegame sessions was 12 weeks (two sessions per week for an hour). To measure social skills, the ten life skillsquestionnaire has been applied, and the London Tower test has been used to measure problem-solving skills. Thecollected data has been analyzed by means of covariance test. Results: The results of the study revealed civilization computer game has improved the problem-solving performanceand its 3 components (problem-solving time, trial time, and problem error) in adolescent girls in the experimentalgroup compared to the control group so that it improves problem-solving performance and reduces test time and thenumber of problem-solving errors. However, this game did not affect the time delay component (p<0.05).Conclusion: Overall, these results indicate that computer games have an effect on all problem-solving componentsexcept the problem-solving time delay. Also, comparing the size of the calculated effects of the components representsthat the game of civilization had a greater effect on the components of the number of errors and time than the time ofproblem-solving.
