In recent years, due to the fact that fossil resources are coming to an end, Renewable energy sources have been considered. Geothermal energy, unlike other renewable energies, is not limited to season, time, and specific conditions and uninterrupted can be exploited. Geothermal cooling and heating system including heat pumps that use the electricity energy to getting or transferring the heat to ground. These systems are basically divided into four generic categories: ground water heat pump, surface water heat pump, ground-couple heat pump, standing column well system. Ground source heat pump are faster than other types of pumps, also they need less maintenance and most importantly, they do not depend on the environment.in this paper discusses the advantages and disadvantages of these systems.
