خلاصه مقاله:
Objective and background: Cancer recurrence is a big concern in cancer treatment. Various studies propose therapeutic approaches as suspected reason of tumor relapse. Cisplatin as the first line treatment of many types of cancers is shown leads to high rate of recurrence post treatment. Cisplatin as a DNA damaging agent causes mitotic catastrophe and subsequently cancer cells death. Nevertheless, a small number of cells survive and become polyploid. How the formation of polyploid cells is joint to cancer recurrence is a matter of debate. In this study we applied experimental and bioinformatics approaches to understand cellular and molecular mechanisms related to cisplatin-resistance(Puig et al. ۲۰۰۸).
