In recent years, supercapacitors have attracted significant attention due to the fastcharging/discharging rate, high power density, and long cycle life provide a viable solution toaddress the increasing demand. In the following study, the CoS۲/polyaniline (PANI) electrodegrown on nickel foam (NF) have been successfully constructed through a facile method and usedas electrodes for a high-performance pseudo capacitor. Firstly, CoS۲ salt was fabricated onto nickelfoam (NF) by a hydrothermal method. Then, PANI was formed in situ on the surface of the CoS۲via an electropolymerization route to achieve high specific capacitance, and long-term life forrequired supercapacitor electrode applications. The electrochemical properties of theseCoS۲/PANI/NF electrodes were studied using cyclic voltammetry (CV), galvanostatic chargedischargeanalysis (GCD), and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) techniques. Thehighest specific capacitance obtained by the prepared electrode was ۲۴۴۳.۳۳ F g –۱ at a currentdensity of ۱ A g –۱, and ۹۳.۰۴% specific capacitance retention after ۳۰۰۰ charge/discharge cyclesat a current density value of ۸ A g –۱. Moreover, a supercapacitor was fabricated using CoS۲/PANIon NF as the positive electrode (cathode), and activated carbon on Ni foam (AC/NF) as thenegative electrode (anode) exhibited high specific capacitance of ۱۴۸.۵ F g –۱ at a current densityof ۱ A g –۱. The introduced composite electrode based on PANI in this research showed excellentelectrochemical performances to be used as electrode material in supercapacitors as novel energystorage devices.
