Water treatment is one of the biggest issues in the world. There are many organic and inorganic contaminants in water. In this study, activated carbon cloth (ACC) was synthesized by chemical activation using phosphoric acid as an activating agent from viscose-rayon cloth, and their efficiency was evaluated in Methylene Blue (MB) adsorption test. The influence of H۳PO۴ concentration and activation temperature on the functional groups of activated carbon cloth and Methylene Blue (MB) adsorption time was investigated. the optimum process conditions of activating agent concentration and activation temperature were determined to be ۱۷%wt and ۴۰۰℃, respectively. The ACCs Functional groups were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and as we expected the C, H, O, and P interaction was shown. Studies and tests revealed that ACC based on viscose-rayon cloth has good potential as an adsorbent for MB adsorption.
