In this paper a new change point lifetime distribution is introduced and its main reliability properties are obtained. Estimations of parameters of proposed distribution are obtained by two estimation procedures: maximum likelihood and bootstrap (parametric and non-parametric). Finally, a real data set have been analyzed for illustrative purposes and it is observed that the proposed model fits better than Weibull, gamma and generalized exponential distributions.
