The monotypic genus Thaumatorymus Ferrière and Novicky, ۱۹۵۴ (Hymenoptera: Torymidae) is endemic of the West Palaearctic subregion. Thaumatorymus notanisoides, a species rarely sampled, is recorded for the first time from Iran, expanding its known distribution range in the subregion. A brief diagnosis, illustrations and geographical distribution are provided.
