Introduction: Sports is defined as a subset of physical activities, which has a framework, goal-oriented and competitive .Research shows physical and mental benefits in the elderly.Objectives/Questions/Hypotheses: The purpose of this research is to investigate the possible effects of neuromuscular exercises on the mental health of elderly women. Research Methods (Population, Sample, and Sampling Method): This research was a semi-experimental type with a pre-test and post-test design with a control group, which was conducted on ۳۰ elderly women in Tehran. Also, the statistical population was selected randomly and available. Research Instruments: Consent form, personal information form, attendance list, mental health questionnaire and general health questionnaire were used in this research. Research Procedure: At first, the research proposal was approved in the movement behavior and sports psychology department of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences, University of Tehran, then it was referred to the sports centers that were implemented in specialized exercises for the elderly, and during a meeting, the necessity and importance of this research was stated, and people volunteered. They completed the consent forms and personal and general health information. The mental health questionnaire was also provided to the volunteers as a pre-test. Then the neuromuscular training protocol was performed by the experimental group in the physical fitness hall under the supervision of the supervisor for ۶ weeks and ۳ sessions per week for ۶۰ minutes, with the difference that the control group was without sports activities. After the end of all the research sessions, the mental health questionnaire was taken from the subjects again as a post-test. Results: The findings of this research showed that neuromuscular exercises are effective on the mental health of elderly women (P<۰.۰۵).
