خلاصه مقاله:
Although industrial development of human society leads to the expansion of urbanization, it causes irreparable damage on environment. Storm surge phenomenon causes to add a large amount of water to gulfs temporarily. The input flow from the Caspian Sea is due to wind. In this study, flow has been simulated by a twodimensionalmodel because of the geometric dimensions and low depth. A computer program has been prepared for pollutants distribution modeling in the Gorgan Gulf, the hydrodynamics data have imported from analysis results of flow by available softwares, on the basis of computational processes to predict the distribution of pollutants. Some studies have been done in this context that will be provided in the following:Al-Hogaraty et al. (2005) produced Three-dimensional numerical model of the pollution distribution in the Abu-Qir Bay in the eastern part of Alexandria City in Egypt [1]. Cunha et al.(2006) combined hydrodynamics model and water quality model to simulate pollution in theSepetiba Bay because of discharged wastewater [2]. Changjun Zhu and Zhenchun Hao (2008) by using of the Gray theory corrected truncation error of finite differential method in solving themodel [3]. Benkhaldoun et al. (2009) proposed an adaptive finite volume method for the numerical solution of pollutant transport by water flows [4]. In this paper, governing equations, modeling method, characteristic of Gorgan Bay and modeling results have been presented and discussed.
