A faunestic study of the family Platygasteridae (Hymenoptera: Platygastoidea) were conducted in East-Azarbaijan province. Some specimens were collected and examined in the entomology laboratory of East-Azarbaijan Research Center for Agriculture and Natural Resources. Based on this study a species of the genus Scelio Latreille was identified. Specific identification leads us to Scelio rugosulus Latreille, 1805, that is a new record to Iranian fauna.
