خلاصه مقاله:
The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of the models designed for or applied to modeling forest growth and dynamics and to review the suitability of the different modeltypes according to their intended purposes. Forest modeling has been focusing on monospecific stands for a long time, only recently have models been developed for mixed forests. The FORMIX3 model simulates spatial–temporal dynamics of tropical forests. The main processes included are growth, mortality, competition, and regeneration oftrees. The FORREG model simulates wood growth of tropical forests. Mechanisticmodels can also be misused. The purpose of the model is to simulate individual trees as part of the SYMFOR framework for modeling the effects of silviculture on the growthand yield. The mortality model represents the death of trees as a probability function that increases with diameter. Catastrophic bifurcations are in the dynamics. A new software BioCalc designed for the forecasting of dynamics of forest ground vegetation diversityand the EFIMOD model of the forest growth and element cycling in the forest–soil system. This paper reviewed part of new method for forest modeling.
