خلاصه مقاله:
With growing production and use of manufactured nanoparticles in a large range of consumer products, regulatory agencies worldwide are addressing the risk that these substances may pose to both the environment and human health. Although the unique characteristics of nanoparticles also enable them to provide environmental solutions to reduce the formation and emissions of pollutants, adverse effects on human health may occur from the exposure to nanomaterials during the manufacturing processes and when nanomaterials are released and they contaminate the environment [1].Some scientific researchers have described nanotechnology as a two-edged sword. On the one hand, some are concerned those nanoscale particles may enter and accumulate in vital organs, such as the lungs and brains, potentially causing harm or death to humans and animals, and that the diffusion of nanoscale particles in the environment might harm ecosystems [2].An assessment with respect to ecosystem health requires an ecological risk assessment that must take into account current knowledge about nanomaterial uses, environmental concentrations, fate, and effects, to determine both predicted environmental concentrations (PECs) and predicted no-effect concentrations. Scopes of authors in this report is to review the available literature on the effect of manufactured nanomaterials in the environment [3].
