The removal of lead (Pb(II)) ions in water is essential for both human health and the natural environment. in this study, modified poly 1-naphthol with cobalt hexacyanoferrate (CoHCF) nanoparticles, has been used as an new adsorbent to adsorption of lead ions from aqueous solutions in a batch system. Nano composite was characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technique. The SEM results showed that the sample was composed of well dispersed ultrafine particles with size of 50 nm. The maximum removal efficiency of modified polymer for lead ions has reached 99.7% at an initial concentration 10 ppm.
