خلاصه مقاله:
A novel potential bone pain palliative agent including 153Sm, Cu and the bone seeking ligand 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraaminomethylenephosphonate (DOTMP) with a metal organic framework (MOF) structure, in which Cu-DOTMP complexes are bridged by 153Sm, is prepared. Samarium-153 [T1/2 = 46 h, Eβ(max) = 810keV, Eγ = 103 (29%)] has radionuclidic properties suitable to be used in palliative therapy and also diagnosis of bone metastases.153Sm can be produced by a relatively easy route involving thermal neutron bombardment on enrichedsamarium oxide in medium flux research reactors.Radionuclidic impurities are not formed by radiative capture during neutron activation. In this study 153Sm was produced using Sm2O3, prepared by two days neutron activation (3–4 × 1013neutrons/cm2.s) of an enriched target. It was then used to synthesize bone seeking radio-MOF in a molecular ratio of (DOTMP/Sm/Cu: 1/2/1).Applying MOF concept in this field will be of a great advantage over former bone seeking radiopharmaceutical preparations which normally uses a higher amount of bone seeking chelating agents. The product stability was checked for one week andit was found to retain its stability at room temperature.
