Palladium nanoparticles encapsulated in the cage of amine functionalized metal organic frameworksIRMOF-3 have been prepared using in situ reduction of palladium II to palladium 0. The mono-dispersed palladiumnanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy and transmission electronmicroscopy. These images clearly evidenced intact metal–organic framework (MOF) pores in IRMOF-3 nanocrystalsthat were loaded with palladium nanoparticles.
