Techniques for hiding information in an innocuous carrier medium have been used throughout history. Video games represent an extremely popular, widely distributed, data-heavymedium, which makes them an optimal carrier medium for hidden messages and files. Despite this, the application ofsteganography to video games is a relatively untouched topic. We present StegoRogue, a content-aware method by which information can be hidden within a two-dimensional video gamemap.
