خلاصه مقاله:
During earthquake, out-of phase vibration of adjacent buildings leads to pounding and it creates critical loading conditions compared to non-pounding vibration. Based on the past earthquakes, the pounding of adjacent buildings in earthquake leads to great damages. This phenomenon is observed mostly in center of big cities as the buildings are adjacent due to high value of land. As Iran is an earthquake-prone area and non-systematic constructions are created and investigation of some methods to reduce or eliminate the pounding is necessary. This study investigates various models to model this phenomenon and theoretical and laboratory researches in this regard.
