خلاصه مقاله:
Surface modified multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were added to high density polyethylene (HDPE) to enhance its mechanical and tribological properties. CNT/HDPE composites were fabricated by mechanical jar milling of MWCNTs and HDPE powders, followed by compression molding of the composite powder. This fabrication process resulted in uniform dispersion of CNTs in the matrix. Vickers microhardness evaluation indicated gradual increase in hardness by incorporation of CNTs. Pin on disc wear tests was performed to evaluate tribological properties of the fabricated samples. The results showed that addition of CNTs decreased average mass loss and increased coefficient of friction of HDPE. Worn surfaces also were observed and analyzed by scanning electron microscope (SEM) in order to explain the changes in tribological properties
