In this work, novolac/graphene oxide (GO) nanocomposite aerogels were prepared through sol–gel polymerization of novolac resin/GO suspension under a solvent saturated vapor atmosphere. Thermogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetric (TGA-DSC) analysis in air and N2 atmosphere were used to evaluate the thermal stability and thermal resistance of nanocomposite aerogels. Time- temperature history diagram was obtained from hot plate zone and thermalconductivity of samples was calculated based on the time-temperature history diagram. The energy needed for the thermal degradation of fabricated nanocomposite aerogels increased by the contents of loaded GO. However, GO presence increased the rate of thermal degradation. Presence of GO nanosheets also increased thermal conductivity of aerogels.
