Despite many attempts devoted in the past, optimization of the mechanical properties of the tread compounds [1], especially lowering the rolling resistance, increasing abrasion resistanceand traction for high performance tires, is still a challenging task. The aim of this study was to investigate the effects ofthree types of carbon black and their blends on the mentioned properties in a non-silica based tread compound via examination of the results of the common tests carried out on the specimens
