خلاصه مقاله:
In this paper, the energy absorption capacity of thin-walled columns has been investigated. For this research, two types of aluminum foam and polyurethane have been used. The samples are under axial loading. All analyzes have been done by the help of ABAQUS software. The results show that the use of aluminum foam and polyurethane foam increase all the energy absorption parameters; but better results were achieved when aluminum foam was dominant. The results are as follows the peak load is equal to 74.58 KN, absorbed energy is 5.5 KJ, the value ofmean load crushing is 75.8 KN and specific energy absorption is 31.3 KJ/Kg.
