Since the high quality water and accurate urban water management is one of the characteristics of the urban areas where the principles of ecological design are applied; the optimal management of surface water is regarded as one of the objectives of this research. Considering that the river valleys have in fact constituted the water sources of Tehran and were the drainage routes of surface waters and possible floods, the drainage basin of Darband River Valley in Tehran is selected as a study area. The best structural management solutions are the systems, all of which can improve the quality of runoff and reduce the runoff flow rate during physical, chemical and biological processes. Among the various modern managerial approaches, only some of which can be implemented in developed and urban environments; therefore, by studying and recognizing, the infiltration trench was selected for embedding in the study area. Since the application of these methods at the proper location can also increase their efficiency and performance in the quantitative and quantitative control of runoff; using the fuzzy logic and hierarchical analysis, the optimal locations for establishing these systems in the region were suggested. For the infiltration trench systems, given the possibility of groundwater contamination, the groundwater surface parameter is highly important in selecting the proper location; the results of sensitivity analysis also showed that in the studied urban area, the land use is considered as the most important factor in selecting the proper location for embedding these systems.
