خلاصه مقاله:
The soil and water salinities have become a major problem for agricultural activities and influenced crop yield in different ways. The present study aimed to investigate the eff ect of methyl jasmonate (MeJA) and sodium silicate (Si) on the mineral content of tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.), under salinity stress. For this purpose a randomized completely block design with three factors including three levels of salinity (0, 4 and 6 dS m-1), Si (0, 4 and 8 mM) and MeJA (0, 5 and 7.5 µM), was used. Main-plots were allocated to the three levels of salinity and the sub-plots were devoted to MeJA and Si levels. The increase in MeJA rate was related to 8.5% increase in leaf P content. When more MeJA was applied at high salinity levels, Na, Ca, and Mn contents decreased and Fe content increased. The application of 8 mM Si could reduce Cl content by 50% at 4 dS.m-salinity level in plants not treated with MeJA. The triple interaction of the factors was significant difference for K, Mg and Cl contents (P < 0.01). Also, the treatments did not bring about any significant differences in Zn and N contents. The application of 8 mM Si reduced Cl content significantly at salinity level of 4 dS.m-1 without MeJA application. Finally, the results led us to the conclusion that MeJA and Si can partially offset the adverse impacts of salinity stress and contribute to the uptake of nutrients in saline conditions.
