As a cofounder of the Swedish Society for Clinical Hypnosis 1965 I offered courses in hypnosis during many years, but only for clinical experts (MD:s, Psychologists, Dentists). However, after having founded the Society for Mental Training and Excellence 1969, where hypnosis is a basic part of Integrated Mental Training (IMT), I expanded the courses to 1. Self-hypnosis for Self-Leadership; 2. Self-Healing and Self-development offered to everyone; 3. Developmental hypnosis for experts in Sport and Life development;During 13 years of research at Uppsala University (1960-1973)focused on 3 areas (Mind-Body relations, Alternative states of consciousness and the effect of training the mind/Brain) I was able to show that all hypnosis (also heterohypnosis ) was or could be turned into Self-hypnosis and that all hypnotic phenomena could be induced by the person themselves.I also showed the advantages with Self-hypnosis in comparison with hetero-hypnosis in areas like costs, usefulness, applicability, availability, adaptability, versatility, empowerment, Self-control, etc.Until today more than 2.5 million Swedes have used Self-hypnosis as a part of the IMT-concept, where learning Self-hypnosis is the first part and learning how to use Self-hypnosis for your own good is the second part.Developmental hypnosis, where hypnosis is used by developmental experts as an important tool for positive change towards Excellence, has so far been a part of the International Society for Mental Training and Excellence (ISMTE), but a proposal has been made to make it to a separate section of ISH or to a Sister-organization – International Society of Developmental Hypnosis (ISDH).
