Production, formulation and quality control of [۱۳N]NH۳ compound for PET imaging of regional blood flow [Persian]

چکیده مقاله:

In this study, ۱۶O(p,α)۱۳N nuclear reaction was chosen as the best method of N-۱۳ production. High purity natural water targets were bombarded by ۱۸ MeV protons with an intensity of ۸μA. A production yield of ۱۳.۵ mCi/μAh was obtained. Chemical modification of ۱۳N-nitrogen oxides into [۱۳N]NH۳ was accomplished using De Varda s catalyst. Chemical, radiochemical and radionuclide purity controls performed on the final product showed high radiopharmaceutical purity (> ۹۸%) in the form of [۱۳N]NH۳. [۱۳N]NH۳ was formulated in normal saline media at appropriate pH and sterile conditions. Microbial and LAL tests were performed on the final product in order to assure its safety for administration to experimental subjects.
