Effect of brick infill on steel frames and enforcement by composite frame

Seismic behavior of buildings has been often studied without considering the effect of masonry infill (brick). The studies showed that brick infilled frames increase hardness and change the response of the structure, difference in importance of structures results in different acceptable and proper methods for building enforcementHere, along with investigation of the behavior and principles of such buildings, composite frames were used to improve the seismic behavior of the structure and the impact of brick infilled frame on frame hardness under nonlinear behavior was studied.The results, numerical and computer analysis, showed significant impact due to the interaction between the frame and infill which resulted in increase of frame hardness under lateral force and led to improvement of seismic performance.
