چکیده مقاله:
the jurassic surmeh formation of the zagros basin is a thick sequence of shallow water carbonate (limestones , dolomites, and dolomitic limestones . The study area is located in kohrang region kohkiloyeh province in the southwest of iran. This successtion can be subdivided in to 12 microfacies distinguished on the basis of their depositional textures and fauna. based on the paleoecology , sedimentary structures and lithology , four distinct depositional settings can be recognized ; tidal flat , lagoon , shoal and open marine. an absence of turbidite deposits , reefal facies, gradual facies changes and widespread tidal flatdeposits indicate that the surmeh formaiton was deposited in a carbonate ramp environment. there are some diagenetic processes in this formaion such as mechanical and chemical compaction, cementation, silicification, micritization, dolomitization, bioturbation , dissolution and neomorphism.
