By the way we can determine how much adjustment is needed for inputs to get a higher efficiency.Hamedan prorince with more 22 thousand hectares of potato growing areas, about 12% of potato of iran is produced in this province The main purpose of this study was to measure the level of Technical, Economical and Allocative efficiency of potato producers. A sample of 107 produers in the main potato growing areas of kabotarahang, Hamedan and Bahar was selected by cluster sampling two stage method. Data were then collected through in terviews for farming year of 2005. Technical efficiency of sugar beet producers were estimated using cobb-Douglas stochastic frontier roduction functions, Also, effects of various social and economical factors were then studied on the level of producers technical efficiencies. Based on the results of this study, it was found that average technical, Allocative and Economic were 81.4, 48.5 and 39.5% respect tirely. There is much discrepencies between technical efficiency of the best potato producers with that of the others. There fore, it is possible to increase production without any major change in technology and used resources, thus decreasing the discrepency between the best and the other producers , Production increase potential have been 18.6 percent.The main socialeconomic factors affecting the technical inefficiency of potato producers have been educational levels, number of land units under potato cultivation, Age of farmer's job and experience, Irrigation method, Cultivation and harvest date, number of Irrigation and Kind of seed.
