بررسی طرح ملی جمع آوری و شناسایی فلور استانهای مختلف کشور و تشکیل هرباریوم های استانی

This project aims to a comprehensive plant collection in different provinces of Iran and developing herbaria in these provinces, to be used as materials for preparing local floras, research materials for local botanical research activities, as well as materials for educational purposes, respecting to the exis~ing local universities. The project started in 1994 and has been actively implemented. A total of 24herbaria have been built up which contain 103439 plant Specimens. Among them, some contain larger quantities of specimens Le. herbaria of research centers in Esfahan, Khorassan and Tabriz.Thirty taxonomists are involved in this project and they have also had some training courses to fulfil the project. It has been planned that the duplicate specimens of these herbaria be sent to the national herbarium of Iran, where they are kept separately. The total numbers of duplicates that have been received from the provincial herbaria are 20003. This collection are also used by the taxonomists that are involved in the FIora of Iran project, to do a comprehensive study and define the - ~. distribution of species in the country. Furthermore the exchange program among these herbaria provides research materials for different projects in these provinces.
