بررسی تاثیر بهره برداری در ادامه حیات و قابلیت بهره دهی گیاه باریجه در اصفهان

Ferula gumosa, a perennial and monocarpic plant belongs to Apiaceae family, is an important medicinal and industerial plant from I.R.Iran. It is called Barije in Persian. It contains oleogumresin, called.galbanum, in its root and flowering stems that can be exploited by wounding the plant, specially the root. In Iran, the plant is found in Khorasn, Mazandaran, Semnan, Ghazvin, Zanjan, Azarbayejan, Kohkiloyeh and Esfahan provinces. Effects of root cutting on oleogumresin extracted, plant survival and yield efficiency was studied in range-lands of Godar-e-Sorkh(Sedeh-e-Kashan), 95 km. south-west of Kashan city, with 51؛ longitude, 33؛ latitude, 2750 m. altitude, 200 mm.average annual precipitation, 18.9؛ c. maximum and 3.2؛ c.minimum annual temperature.in loamy to loamy sand soils since 1997 to 2002. A split randomized complete plot design with 3 replications was used.Exploitation (1 time and 2times extraction) was the main plot and numbers of cutting (3, 4, and 5 times per year) was the sub-plot. According to the achieved results, increasing the times of cutting incresed the yield of extracted gum (7.86 grams gum per plant for 5 times cutting). On the other hand it increased the plant morality whereas there was not any increase in the yield in the second exploitation due to the times of cutting. Flowering stems were increased in the plots with higher level of cutting times, so the number of the alive plants were reduced in these plots. Plants leaves coverag reduced in plots.with the higher cutting times, so increasing in cutting times will not increase the yield of the exploited gum in long term. Exploitation must be done under a.suitable environmental condition (annual precipitation amount must be near to the average precipitation during 20 years)in the year of extraction. Final results recommend that the maximum number of cutting must be 4 times a year with at least 2 years leave between each exploitation.
