چکیده طرح پژوهشی:

Red palm weevil (RPW), RhYl1chophorus jerrugineus Oliv. (Col.: Curculionidae), is one of the most important pests of different palms in Asia, North Africa and Spain. At present, it is an internal quarantined pest in Saravan region (Sistan & Ba]ouchistan province, !ran). Date palm fruit stalk borer, Orycles eIegans Prell. (Co],: Scarabaeidae) is one of the most important pests of palm in Iran and As\a. Several experiments have been carried out during 2004-2005 on the trapping of red palm weevil and date palm fruit stalk borer, both by pheromone-based traps. The reasults showed that the traps baited with separate dispensers of aggregation pheromones of two species in comparison with traps that baited with pheromone mix (50:50 ratio) in one dispenser significantly attract more beetle of O. elegons. But all types of the baits were equally attractive for R. jerrugineus. Also there was not a significant difference in the number of catches of O. elegans by traps plac~d in different heights (ground, 1.5 and 4 III heights), But the traps placed on the ground significantly attract more beetle of R. ferrllgil1eus in comparison with traps placed about 1.5 and 4 m above ground. On the other hand, the effect of date palm core aging on the catching of two species was similar.Trap captures in traps that replacement of date palm core were done every week, were significantly greater than in traps that replacement of date palm core were done every 2 and 3 week. So with increase age of date palm core, decrease captures in traps,This results indicated that pheromone traps with separate dispensers of phromone of R. ferrllginells and O. elegans that placed on the ground can be used for mass trapping of these species
