Analytical study of Infilled masonry frame under lateral loads

In previous earthquakes, the effects of infill in the structures have shown the importanceof modeling and evaluating their influence in analyzing and designing the structures.Different modeling methods have been presented up to now in this field. In this study, theeffect of infill is modeled with 3-strut method in structures with various numbers ofstories and is investigated by pushover. The results of the study reveal that the expectablebehavior of the structures with and without infill differs significantly. Also, with increasein number of stories, values of initial stiffness, periods, shears and drifts in buildings withinfill compared with building without infill vary basically.
