Analysis of the dimensions and effects of US and Western sanctions on Iran's economy

Today, the option of sanctions is used as a mechanism and tool to pursue the foreign policy goals of countries. Basically, sanctions are imposed by countries that have hegemonic stability in the structure of the international system. Evidence for the diplomatic behavior of countries with stable hegemony suggests that sanctions could be the most effective alternative to pursuing foreign policy. Such a symptom can be seen in the foreign policy behavior of hegemonic countries, such as the United States, against the Islamic Republic of Iran. The problem is that this option has various dimensions among other punitive mechanisms. Accordingly, the present article tries to examine the impact of the sanctions imposed on the country from different aspects, while examining the behavioral patterns of the foreign policy of various US governments towards Iran.
