چکیده مقاله:
The effort for synthesizing effective adsorbent is growing at a frantic pace to tackle the issue of contaminated water. The objective of this research is to tailor the magnetite nanoparticles to make a novel multiple-functionalized composite for removing dye pollutants. The origins of the architected groups were aminopropyl-treated silica, low molecular mass chitosan, graphene oxide, and diethylenetriaminepentaacetic acid. Compared to individual ingredients, the synthesized magnetic adsorbent revealed a remarkable synergism effect causing enhanced adsorption of cationic blue 41. The adsorption conditions were optimized by the design of experiment, and the best removal was obtained at pH = 9.0, temperature of 47.1 °C and adsorbent dosage of 0.0198 g·L-1. Based on the kinetic study, the adsorption process was fast and almost completed within 30 min. The modified pseudo-n-order was the best model to fit the experimental data. The coulombic attraction, pi stacking, and H-bonding were dominant forces to adsorb cationic blue 41. Besides, the high adsorption capacity of 55.9 mg·g-1 was obtained by the equilibrium experiments satisfactorily correlated with the modified Langmuir-Freundlich isotherm.
