چکیده مقاله:

The goal of this study is to optimize a wallpaper adhesive produced from sugar cane bagasse cellulose by experiments carried out in a lab scale reactor with variations in reaction conditions such as temperature, catalyst and feed concentration. This reactor is well design and fabricated to minimize the energy and material consumption achieved by coupling of the hydrolysis section with a distillation column to recycle the catalyst with a very low additional energy. The results showed that the amount and quality of produced wallpaper adhesive is related to the optimum reaction conditions for removal of lignin from sugar cane bagasse occurred at ammonia solution concentration of 30% and temperature of 150̊ C. The production of water soluble carbohydrate was carried out by hydrolysis of deligninificated sugarcane in sulfuric acid solution at concentrations of 72 up to 68% and controlled temperatures from 20 to 25̊ C. The results of optimization of the glue formula by monitoring of the bondstrength variation showed that the optimum glue formulation is occurred at carbohydrate concentration of 3% and borax concentration of 0.2%. At this carbohydrate to borax ratio the rheological analysis of the glue suspensions were measured at different adhesive concentration and time to determine the optimum glue concentration and maximum drying time. The results showed that the optimum glue concentration was 3 % and the maximum drying time was 20 minute.
