Molecular detection of racR gene in thermophilic campylobacter Spp. isolated from cattle

Although, many genes are involved in pathogenesis of Campylobacter, racR gene considered the main genefor Campylobacter pathogenicity in humans.The purpose of this study was determined the molecular detectionof recR gene in thermophilic campylobacter Spp. isolated from cattle. To perform the study 143 fecal sampleswere collected from cattle. All samples were subjected for isolation of Campylobacter spp. using prêt KBmethod and the presumptive isolates authenticated by DNA sequencing of 16srRNA genes. Finally,Campylobacter isolates assessed for detection of racR gene. The results obtained indicated that 11 strains ofCampylobacter spp. were isolated. Of all isolates 6 strains were identified as Campylobacter jejuni and therest (5 isolates) was Campylobacter coli. The genome of 6 (100%) C.jejuni and 5 (100%) C.coli werecontained racR gene. Hence based on foregoing evidence racR gene existed in all isolates.Therefore, Campylobacter strains isolated from different sources could be considered infectious agent forhuman. It is because phenotypical character inducted by racR gene (colonization and heat tolerance) helpsthem to survive and cause infection.
