Factors affecting the attitude of rural youth towards employment in the agricultural sector: A case study of BabolCounty

This study aims to investigate the factors affecting the attitude of rural youth towards employment in theagricultural sector: A case study of Babol County. A combination of quantitative and descriptiveinferentialmethods was adopted as the research methodology. The statistical population of this study wasthe ۵۵۲۰۰ rural youth, ۱۵ to ۲۹ years old. Using Cochran formula, ۲۷۱ individuals were determined as thesample size. Selection of individuals was also done by stratified sampling method. Cronbach's alpha wasreported as ۰.۸۷ for the questionnaire. The ordinal regression analysis showed that the three variables ofinterest in agricultural activities, entrepreneurial personality factor, and the number of participation in thetraining course positively affect the probability of changing the attitude of rural youth toward employmentin the agricultural sector. It is necessary to adopt a situation where the attitude of young people tocontinue education and to receive the necessary training in the field of agricultural jobs is improved and toencourage development of skills.
