چکیده مقاله:

Sediment deposition in urban drainage systems is occurred due to the difference between the wet and dry seasons as a consequences of the climate change phenomenon. During the floods, pollutions may spread in the urban area which are accumulated together with sediment particles at the channel bottom. In order to overcome to the aforementioned deficiencies, adaptive climate change strategies must be implemented. To this end, drainage channel design based on sediment transport principles can be conducted which is called self-cleansing. It is a reasonable approach for preventing the failure performance of the channels to keep their hydraulic capacity to convey sediment particles within the flow. In this study, considering the unique flow velocity and conventional self-cleaning approaches are summarized and their deficiencies are highlighted. As a most conservative approach, non-deposition condition of sediment transport is analyzed and finally, new design requirements through considering the climate change impacts are investigated.
