Evaluation of payment system and its relationship with the working life of nurses working: descriptive-analytic study

According to studies, salary and benefits are one of the aspects of quality of working life. In nurses, the quality of work life can directly and indirectly affect the quality of patient care. Therefore, identifying the factors affecting the care delivery system is essential. Purpose of this stydy was to evaluate the payment system and it’s relation with the quality of nurses’ quality of life in Ahvaz hospitals in ۲۰۱۷. This was a descriptive- correlation study. Target population included all the nurses who were employed in Ahvaz hospitals. Sample size was ۱۲۰ of the mentioned nurses. Sampling method was stratified random and data collection tool was a questionnaire. Data analysis was done using mean, frequency distribution and spearman test. The quality of nursing work life was found to be at a moderate level. The average rate of payment system in Private hospitals (۲.۳۲۵) was assessed higher than educational hospitals (۱.۷۶۴). But, the quality of work life in educational hospitals (۱.۲۳۰) was assessed higher than Private hospitals (۱.۲۵۰). Pearson statistical analysis showed a positive and significant correlation between payment system and quality of work life (p <۰.۰۰۰۱, r= .۳۷۰). as a result, It is important to consider the workplace and quality of working life. Therefore, organizations and managers should pay attention to matching the payment system based on the performance of nurses, which is an effective factor in providing patient care.
