UPON THE SEISMIC RESPONSE OF THE RUBBLE MOUND MARINE BREAKWATERS

In the case of marine rubblemound structures, the seismic loadings come to be, beside the storm Waves, the most important destruction factor, which has to be carefully considered in order to properly implement-through the structure designing stage - sufficient seis-mic-proof structural characteristics. By means of the computer approached structure dynamic analysis, one could work out reliable descriptions of the earthqUake respon-se of such structures, including herein typical natural vibration modes, typical expected seismic induced displacements and accele -ration distributions, the particular influence of construction ma-terial properties upon the structure seismic behaviour, the sig - nificant influence of the earthquake temporal characteristics, the seismic stress pattern, the breakwater seismic stability and the probable damage extent.
