Green Synthesis of ۳,۴-dihydropyrimidin-۲-(۱H)-ones under microwave irradiation and catalyst-free conditions

In this contribution, synthesis of ۳,۴-dihydropyrimidin-۲-(۱H)-ones in ۱-butyl-۳-methylimidazolium bromide ionic liquid ([bmim]Br IL) under microwave irradiation condition were evaluated extensively. The reactions were proceeded smoothly under above-mentioned mild condition to afford the corresponding products in relatively high yields. Environmentally friendly reaction procedure and easy work up process, easy synthesis of the ionic liquid, excellent yields of the reactions (۹۰-۹۵%), short reaction time, as well as the efficient reusability of the ionic liquid (at least up to four times) are the most important advantages of the proposed protocol.
