ATTENUATION OF SEISMIC WAVES IN TEHRAN REGION

As [ran is a seismically active region, studying on earthquakes and its parameters is very important. One of the parameters which can tell us about the seismicity of one region and also recently has known as one of the precursors of earthquake occurrence is attenuation_ By using digital data from Tehran station. (IIEES), II-PA network (IGTU) and a temporary network with nine stations installed by IIEES and also the foreshocks and aftershocks of Rudbar earthquake (۱۹۹۰), the attenuation for Tehran region and its variations for Rudbar is measured. From several hundred earthquakes recorded by the mentioned stations in about ۶ years, two hundred earthquakes and about three hundred foreshocks and aftershocks are selected.
