چکیده مقاله:

CO۲ is the most significant long-lived greenhouse gas which leads to global warming. There are several approaches to moderate the CO۲-emission problem. Reforming processes are one method that uses CO۲ as feedstock. In this context, the bi- reforming and tri-reforming processes combine two of the most problematic greenhouse gases (CH۴ and CO۲) to produce syngas for the synthesis of clean liquid fuels and valuable chemicals. However, until now, these reforming methods are not commercialized, and a new conception design is required. To expand the knowledge in this groundwork area, a new laboratory-scale reformer has been built at Montanuniversitaet Leoben, Austria. The plant was designed in such a way to be adapted for industrial purposes. The lab-scale reformer can be used to perform Bi-reforming and Tri-reforming tests with commercial catalysts under diverse operating conditions and distinct gas compositions. The intention is to yield synthesis gas (a fuel gas mixture consisting of H۲ and CO) with a suitable H۲/CO ratio for further production of methanol or Fischer–Tropsch synthesis fuels.
