The effect of blending Polycarbonate with Polyvinylchloride on the membrane surface porosity and pore size

چکیده مقاله:

Surface porosity over pore length and pore size are two importantant prameters for studying mass transfer in asymmetric porous membranes. In this study Polycarbonate (PC) and blend of PC/ Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) membranes were fabricated. The effect of blending PC with PVC on surface porosity and pore size of membrane wereinvesigated. Mean pore size of PC is higher than PC/PVC membrane. Althogh, the results show that the effective surface porosity of PC (۲۸۵, ۱/m) is les than PVC/PC (۸۱۴۰,۱/m) membrane.
