Predictability Of Obsession Based On Ego Strengths And Personality Structure Mediated By Corona Anxiety

Background: The aim of this study was to predict obsession based on Ego strengths and personality structure mediated by coronary anxiety. Method :The present study was descriptive-correlation and structural equations. The statistical population of the study was ۳۶۰ people (all patients referred to counseling centers in Hamadan) from which the statistical sample, ۲۶۴ people, was selected randomly and cluster sampling. Data were collected using Madzley Obsessive Questionnaire (۱۹۷۷), Ego Baron Power Questionnaire (۱۹۹۷), Cronberg Personality Structure Questionnaire (۲۰۰۲) and Corona Alipour Anxiety Questionnaire (۱۳۹۸). Result: The results of structural equations showed that the obsessive-compulsive disorder model based on Ego strengths and personality structure had a good fit with the mediating role of coronary anxiety. The direct effect of Ego strengths on obsession (p <۰.۰۱, β = -۰.۳۴) and coronary anxiety (p <۰.۰۱, β = -۰.۳۶) was significant. The direct effect of personality structure on obsession (p <۰.۰۱, β = ۰.۱۹) and coronary anxiety (p <۰.۰۱, β = ۰.۳۱) was also significant. The direct effect of coronary anxiety on obsession was also significant (p <۰.۰۱, β = ۰.۲۳). The indirect effect of Ego strengths (p <۰.۰۱, Z = -۰.۰۵) and personality structure (p <۰.۰۱, Z = ۴.۱۶) on obsession was also significant. The results showed that Ego strengths and personality structure affect coronary anxiety and obsession. Conclusion:Thus, one can expect to reduce coronary anxiety and obsession by increasing the amount of ego and balance in the personality structure.
