This study for the first time is on fossils of the Jeyrud and Mobarak Formations in Balast Mine (North East Railway Co.). The sediments have a rich fauna of Corals, Crinoids and other groups of Brachiopods. Compared with other sections in Iran, this section has the richest fauna of athyris. (Samples are in Azad University, branch of Izeh).
