In this paper, a microstrip patch antenna with the ability to function in a specific standard IoT dual band frequency is presented. Primarily, the proposed antenna is designed using one rectangular main microstrip patch and two slotted patches, which are connected to the main rectangular patch. The rectangular shaped antenna is designed to operate at dual operating frequencies of ۴۳۴MHz (Europe and Asia) and ۹۱۵MGHz (North America) andcan be used for IoT (Internet of Things) applications. It is then etched to look like a plant leaf shaped antenna for specific IoT applications functioning at the mentioned dual band frequencies. The measured gain of rectangular antenna without the connecting patches is ۳.۴dB but it is surprisingly increased to ۴.۲۱dB when it is connected with the slotted patches as plant leaf looking like antenna. Both designs are implemented using FR۴ dielectricsubstrate. Ansoft HFSS and CST are employed to simulate the output and the results are compared with that of practically measured antennas. The results are analyzed and discussed in terms of return loss, radiation pattern and gain.
