Introduction: More than ۱۴ million people worldwide are diagnosed with cancer each year, and that number is projected to reach more than ۲۱ million by ۲۰۳۰. ۷۰,۰۰۰ new cases of cancer occur annually in Iran. Resilience is an important protective factor against psychological distress and is one of the important components in cancer care. Considering that cancer has the greatest impact on life expectancy compared to other chronic diseases and cancer is a threatening factor of hope in patients, it is important to study hope and its relationship with other variables involved. Cancer patients are a special group of patients who, in addition to the need for specialized treatment related to physical illnesses, also need emotional support. Therefore, the researcher decided to investigate the relationship between hope and resilience in patients with cancer. Methods: This study was conducted in a cross-sectional method on ۱۵۶ participants from March to July ۲۰۲۱. Patients were selected using convenience sampling method. Three questionnaires were used: a sociodemographic form, a Snyder Hope Questionnaire and a Conner-Davidson Resilience Scale. The data was analyzed using SPSS ۲۵. Results: The results showed that the high level of hope, can increase the resiliency of patients with cancer. According to the spearman’s correlation coefficient test, there is a statistically significant and correlation between resiliency and hope (P = ۰.۰۰۱) in patients with cancer. Conclusion: Findings have shown that, if the level of hope in patients with cancer increases, it can improve and increase resilience in these patients, and this will improve the physical and psychological symptoms of cancer.
